Recipient Rights Training for Recipients provides people receiving mental health services, parents, and guardians with the knowledge and skills they need to exercise and protect their rights when receiving public mental health services.
Goal: To help individuals receiving services and those advocating for them understand the rights guaranteed by the Michigan Mental Health Code.
Who Should Attend:
- Anyone receiving mental health services from ISK or one of its contracted provider agencies.
- Parents and guardians of persons served.
- If you are unsure whether your mental health provider is included, please call Greg Paulsen at 269-666-4000.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about their rights when receiving public mental health services and what to do if they believe their rights have not been met.

This meeting will be protected by a passcode, but anyone with the link and the passcode can attend. Participants who wish to protect their privacy are encouraged to ensure that their camera and microphone are off and that their screen name does not identify them. Anonymous participants will still be able to ask questions via the chat. Participants who choose to be visible on camera are reminded to be considerate of others. For confidential questions, participants will have an opportunity to meet with Office of Recipient Rights staff privately after the main session or by scheduling a phone appointment.
